Legendary 20th-century photographer Philippe Halsman is responsible for some of my favorite images of all-time (like…this one, for example). Halsman was commissioned to take portraits of countless celebrities for prominent publications like LIFE magazine & The Saturday Evening Post…and yeah, those were good. Great, even. But what I really love…is that after the proper portrait was taken, Halsman would ask his subjects to then jump for the camera, rather than just smile. The priceless images from his personal portfolio were eventually published in Philippe Halsman’s Jump Book. See more images after the jump…
