Lykke Li is a special lady. She has somehow managed to sit in a unique musical chair, creating tunes that not only repeat on our playlists but make it to our favorite remix stack. If you’ve seen her perform live, it’s magical — her show last year had rooftop caving in with fans trying to catch a real-time glimpse of those sultry vocals (and that face!) at famous Hollywood hot-spot, Bardot. I think we topped that when Stage 2 had Miss Li all over it! In a sultry shoot to match an exclusive interview held by visionary Tarik Saleh for our favorite new crush, The Lab Magazine, photographer Frank W. Ockfenfels 3 brings out the vocal vixen’s masculine and feminine side. TS—Tell me something you did that was strange even to yourself.
LL—You know me very well. You know that I get myself into situations all the time that are very strange, very cinematic. There’s always some kind of drama I have to overcome. I could write a whole book about it. And you know I have special powers with the universe. TS—Tell me something that inspired you recently.
LL—I’m on a plane too much right now to be inspired, but I was driving to Glastonbury and I saw this little house – that really inspired me. I long for that, to just be in a house, to make my own food and be my own master, and have time be mine. — The Lab Magazine Issue #4, interview by Tarik Saleh.
