On The Rise: Jamila Glass x Zingdeed, A Dance Film

This is quite the Monday scenario: A dance film about native Palashakopians — the estrogen-powered people of Zingdeed, a mystical land of otherworldly super beings when their world is dramatically altered by their leader sending “the pack” to a planet called Earth for the rescuing of a lost soul. The emerging artists in this collaboration are evident by the final piece; We zoom in on the dedication of filmmaker (writer, director, producer!) and heavy-hitting dancer Jamila Glass of the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company and The Pin Down Girls…and how having a clear focus on your goal can lead to it’s completion. Remember that American Apparel ‘Kaleidoscope’ top 3 winning video of Face Off 2011? It had a few gorgeous, colorful dancing legs in it, some of which are featured right in this film.
