Travel Mix: The Salton Sea by Philip Bloom
Filmmaker (DP, Director) Philip Bloom has over 216 shorts, time-lapses, and creative travel videos on Vimeo. His website is full of content like features, film reviews and tons of engaging factors that make us think it may as well belong to a sought after production company; at his passion rate for filmmaking, he is sought after. For our Travel Tuesday mix, we’d like to share his capture of the Salton Sea Beach — shot on a Canon Rebel T2i and a Kessler Crane Pocket Dolly Traveller. Comprende? On his blog he states, “I exposed it [Rebel T2i] to the harsh, hot, dirty Salton Sands where it’s very dirty and sandy. It’s not the ideal environment for a consumer camera, but it worked just fine. I had a few overheat warning issues after about two hours of solid shooting in the sun…the buffer ran out and it stopped recording. This is the first time I’ve seen this.” We understand Philip. However, the video you shot looks fantastic.
