The Smashbox Photo Sessions @Photo LA, Part 1
Here we go, lovers: Face Off had a successful run at Photo LA! We had a delightful response from attendees on the selects that were exhibiting in our booth…and tonight the show travels to The W Hotel in Westwood (RSVP!), where you’ll get to enjoy beautiful photography until April 15, 2012. There’s absolutely no possible way we would leave all of our clients, fans, and avid blog readers hanging at such great art events, though — As the love of capture would have it, this Smashbox Studios blog we call Yello! sponsors some of your favorite photo sessions every time you come hang with us in the City Of Angels. OMG. We are still recovering from our fantastical opening night bash. The evening was the premiere culmination of The 2011 Smashbox FACE/OFF Competition — and man-oh-man did everyone come out to celebrate the exhibited work of our rising star creatives. This competition just keeps getting better, indeed.
We’ll say this again & again: A very SPECIAL note of gratitude to our profound judges…who had a whole lot of gorgeous images and videos to judge, not to mention the insightful knowledge they shared with everyone in our Q&A judges panel. Our sponsors were amazing, of course — Rock Paper Photo gifted limited edition Madonna, Bowie and Gaga captures. Camera prizes thanks to Lomography. Hasselblad held down the photo sessions and Samy’s Camera along with Profoto alotted some impeccable gift certs. Amazing right? Besides featuring private works by artists Banksy, Fairey, Keyes, Choe and more, a few more elements sets this venture aside: In a collaborative spirit, Branded Arts is hosting an interactive design contest on Talenthouse…dot…com. The winning artist gets their work exhibited at the event (on our stages!) as the backdrop for event DJ, the lovely Samantha Ronson.
